Nice subject choice :) There should be some excellent images available of submarines. Be careful if Dr Leinhard speaks about a specific submarine that you try to find the exact one (he is a stickler for the details).
www.shorpy.com might be worth a look for images of submarines - not sure if there are any but there are some decent old wartime photographs on there you might find useful.
